Captain Planet

I am disgusted by how partisan the environmental issue has become. Republicans act like 'sustainability' and 'green' are dirty words only used by hippie tree-hugging liberal nuts. And the Democrats use the threat of global warming as a fear tactic to advance their fight against big business and corporations.

This is one issue where our generation really needs to take a stand. This should not be a political issue and it should not matter which of side the aisle you're on. As responsible human beings we have an ethical responsiblity to be good stewards of our natural environment and planet. It's foolish for us to pollute our environment, squander away all of our non-renewable resources, and continue to fill landfills at an alarming rate. Regardless of your party affiliation, you need to let your state and US representatives know that it is unacceptable for them to continue to ignore this issue. And that the US needs to get its head out of the sand and take a global leadership role in the green movement.

  1. I agree! I think there are very simple things everyone can do to help the environment that I bet most of us don't even do today. Although, the biggest impact goes back to what type of energy we use, and right now almost everything we touch is a product of fossil fuels. We do need to do our part and tell our representatives and demand change.

  2. Cars that run on poop and free Meat Lover's Skillets for guys named Rayburn. Energy crisis solved.

  3. [Driving in an SUV in college town setting after going through the Whataburger drive-thru circa 2002]
[Jake finishes a triple meat cheeseburger and Whata-sized fries, balling his trash]
Jake: "Hey Justin, would you mind throwing this away for me?"
    Justin: "Sure thing man"
[Justin rolls down SUV window and throws balled trash out]
    Jake: "Thanks man!"

Hooray for us and protecting Mother Nature!
